Reignite
Honestly, I haven't done a public speaking event in a while. It's been a minute.
Why? Just your typical creativity-killing cocktail of burnout, imposter syndrome, rejection sensitive dysphoria, and a vicious spiral of the trio. I realized that, just like every career transition I've gone through, these have all played a role in keeping me from saying what needs to be said online and generally putting myself out there. Let's just say I've done a lot of reflection on the topic.
Also, in the last year or two especially, I can't help but notice all the people experiencing burnout. Especially those folks I work with in career transition. Then there are some who are resisting the transition because it feels harder than "sticking it out" where they are, even though it's not energizing them. Trying something new and risking not being good enough at it. This sounds like imposter syndrome. Or worrying about whether it's worth applying to new jobs and anticipating rejections. Sounds like rejection sensitivity.
Burnout makes finding what lights us up, applying to jobs, putting ourselves out there, and finding joy along the way especially challenging. On top of that, it can also feel like the anti-hustle, constant-healing, wellness industrial complex can be another source of feeling not good enough, not doing it “right”.
So I was inspired to put something new together to help out those who experience these feelings in the face of career transitions.
This has inspired me to get my spark back, while helping you get yours.
Let's get that spark back ✨
Next week, I’m hosting a free online workshop called Reignite: Navigating Career Transitions in the Face of Imposter Syndrome, Rejection Sensitivity, & Burnout
If you’re feeling this, I invite you to join the workshop where I aim to help:
Excavate the unnecessary BS pressures, lifting a weight off your shoulders
Invigorate you to take the next steps in finding an opportunity that lights you up
Advocate for your needs so you can continue to shine your brightness on the world
Despite living in a society that's normalized hustle culture and self-sacrifice for work (and finding new work) to the point of burnout, we know that’s NOT how we want to live our lives. We want to be able to find impactful work without the guilt of taking care of our needs outside of work. Together we’ll reveal the pressures that impact how we experience career changes and imposter syndrome. We’ll also dive into the topic of Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (a common neurodivergent experience) and how that can impact career and life transitions.
This workshop will offer perspective on navigating careers and life transitions in the face of burnout, no matter where in the process you find yourself. You’ll walk away with ideas for how to understand your needs, remove tension from your life, find more ease in the face of transition, and give yourself self-compassion to REIGNITE that spark inside you.
Register here for the workshop "Reignite: Navigating Career Transitions in the Face of Imposter Syndrome, Rejection Sensitivity, & Burnout" happening on Aug 9th.
